ECON 405 - Econ Dev and Entrepreneurship The goal of this course is to better understand the economic environment in middle and low income countries. The course will examine the lives of the world’s poor. We will ask why some countries remain poor and why countries, overall, differ in their degree of economic development. The course will emphasize the historical and institutional factors that explain current development levels. We will assess policies aimed at helping the world’s poor and emphasize the role of urbanization and entrepreneurship in economic development. Typically Offered Fall, Spring. Level: UG Credit Hours: 3
