EDLA 222 - Text and the Child Designed to assist pre-service elementary teachers with the creation of projects using children’s literature. Criteria for evaluating and selecting developmentally appropriate text for classroom use are examined. A portion of the course covers literature as visual text and various artistic styles found in picture books are examined. The course emphasizes strategies for using literature in the classroom. Typically Offered Fall, Spring, Summer Level: UG Credit Hours: 4
