EDLA 222 - Text and the Child

Designed to assist pre-service elementary teachers with the creation of projects using children’s literature. Criteria for evaluating and selecting developmentally appropriate text for classroom use are examined. A portion of the course covers literature as visual text and various artistic styles found in picture books are examined. The course emphasizes strategies for using literature in the classroom.
