LITR 580 - World Folk Literature

A more in-depth exploration of folk literature from around the world than LITR 380. In order to read, understand, enjoy, and reflect upon traditional oral and written folklore from around the world, students will study the origins of folk literature and folklore, its dissemination, social and psychological implications,and place in the modern world. Students will interact with literature, the instructor, and classmates through analyses, interactive activities, observations, discussions, and research. Students with credit for LITR 380 cannot take LITR 580. This course meets General Education requirements: Cultural Enrichment, Global Consciousness and Writing Intensive Requirement and new Fall 2017 Culture, Global Diversity, and Comm Across the Curriculum.
