NURS 361 - Psychosocial Nursing


This course focuses on care for patients and families experiencing alterations in mental and social well-being. Students examine concepts that contribute to the development of mental illness and nursing interventions that promote optimal functioning. A collaborative approach that incorporates psychosocial assessment, pharmacological considerations, and therapeutic communication techniques is emphasized. Students explore the impact of health care policies on the ethical care of vulnerable populations, and advocate for equitable care and dignity for patients. Typically offered: Fall, Spring, Summer
