PPET 220 - Intro to Medical Devices

This course is designed to provide an introductory overview of the medical device industry, and its unique design and manufacturing challenges. The course first examines the industry itself, reviewing basic industry statistics, current trends, and the many types of products that make up the medical device industry. The course is focused on defining and understanding of medical devices in the growing medical market. The other accompanying theme is the gain an understanding of device design and how to innovate to create and then sustain a medical product. Typically offered in Fall, Spring, Summer.
