PTMG 182 - Beginning Teaching Techniques

An introductory course designed to prepare students for the RSPA Level 1 Tennis Instructor Certification Workshop and the RSPA Pickleball Certification Workshop. This course will provide fundamental knowledge and develop skills in teaching tennis lessons to junior tennis players. It will also include developing a coaching philosophy, understanding professionalism, lesson organization and administration. Students will learn the basics of pickleball including rules, matchplay, and basic teaching elements. An emphasis will be given to practicing on-court simulations. Typically offered: Fall
