SCWK 550 - Research Methods


This course is the foundational Social Work Research course. This course focuses on Social Work research design methodology, with emphasis on applied research in human service and public service settings from a trauma-informed, anti-racist lens. Special emphasis is placed on program evaluation, single subject design studies, human service surveys, and ethical issues in research. This course is an introduction to elementary statistical concepts, including frequency distributions, measures of central tendency, and beginning bivariate and analyses. You will gain preparation for critical use of research and evaluation of your own knowledge base and that of other professionals. Typically offered Fall.
