SPAN 100 - Spanish for Business-Travel The purpose of this course is to prepare students for basic Spanish language survival skills as professionals, Study Abroad participants, and/or tourists who interact with Spanish-speakers abroad in Latin America and Spain, as well as in the United States. Additionally, this course entails a comparative study of cultural differences between the United States and the Spanish-speaking world as it focuses on situations commonly encountered in Latin America and Spain to gain an understanding of fundamental intercultural differences. Students will acquire basic language skills and develop cultural knowledge through interactive activities, readings, discussions, presentations, projects, dialogues, and conversati”ons. This course meets General Education requirements: Cultural Enrichment and Global Consciousness and new Fall 2017 Culture and Global Diversity. Level: UG Credit Hours: 3
