EDLA 481 - Methods for Teach English Language Arts 5-12 In this course, teacher candidates will deepen understanding of pedagogy and content knowledge related to the field of English language arts. Candidates will examine and apply methods for teaching literary analysis, genre study, composition processes, and multiliteracies to enable students to grow as strategic readers and writers. Course assignments will guide candidates to design and implement culturally responsive instruction at corresponding field placements. More specifically, candidates will refine instructional decision-making to elicit and interpret student evidence, foster critical thinking skills, model reading and writing practices, and intentionally differentiate instruction. Typically Offered in Fall and Spring depending on campus Level: UG Credit Hours: 4
