WELD 412 - Computer Aided Weldment Design


Application of computer aided drafting, material selection, and finite element analysis software and hardware to facilitate the process of designing weldments. Mechanical and shape properties of materials utilized to determine and analyze weldment design functionality. Design approach methods and programs are addressed. Engineering economic methods are applied to weldment design and processes selection. Students will be required to solve several weldment design problems. Typically Offered Fall Only.
