Associate of Applied Science

The Associate of Applied Science in Building Construction Technology incorporates small hands-on laboratory courses to provide well-rounded technical instruction in construction materials, methods, administration/operations, and equipment. The program has a specific focus on mechanical/electrical, virtual design and construction, and framing.

Graduates of this high-demand program may choose employment in the commercial, industrial, or residential sectors of the construction industry. They may also continue their education and obtain a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management through our American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) accredited program.

This program is offered full-time at the main campus in Big Rapids, MI.

2.75 High School GPA (on a 4.00 scale) (2.50 -2.74 with college approval)
Minimum Composite Score of ACT 18/SAT 950, Math Score of ACT 19/SAT 580

First Year Seminar Requirement (FSUS 100 or Equivalent) - 1 Credit Required

In order to graduate from Ferris State University, students must meet both University and Programmatic Graduation Requirements.

University Graduation Requirements

These are the minimum graduation requirements for an associate degree at Ferris State University:

All requirements as specified in the University Requirements section must be met.
A minimum of 60 credits must be earned.
A 2.00 or higher cumulative Ferris State University GPA is required.
A minimum of 15 credits must be earned from Ferris State University to meet the Residency requirement.

Programmatic Graduation Requirements

These are the additional graduation requirements mandated by the program:

All requirements as specified in the College Requirements section must be met.
A minimum of 32 credits in Building Construction Technology Management (BCTM) and Construction Management (CONM) courses must be earned from Ferris State University.
A minimum of three of the four Building Construction Technology Management (BCTM) courses must be completed at Ferris State University.
