Undergraduate Certificate
The Electrical Power Generation certificate is for students interested in the production of electiral energy at or close to, where is is consumed. This is a two-course certificate, which provides training in the function, operation, repair, adjustment, and troubleshooting of alternating current electrical power generation systems. In addition, it explores the application of various types of practical generator switchgear and other types of auxiliary power components and controls. Industries that rely on this type of include telecom, health, municipalities, entertainment, information technology and residential. This certificate is for students such in automotive, heavy equipment, construction, technology, business, and communications. Students that earn this certificate can obtain job titles that include Generator Technicians, Field Service Technician and Maintenance Technician.

New Student Admission Requirements
- Admitted to Ferris State University and in good academic standing.
- 2.50 High School GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- ACT 17/SAT 900 Placement into HEQT 120 & HEQT 210 or permission
These requirements also apply to Transfer Students.

Notes
- Students who return to the university after an interrupted enrollment, not including summer semester, must normally meet the requirements of the curriculum which are in effect at the time of their return, not the requirements which were in effect when they were originally admitted.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from Ferris State University, students must meet both University and Programmatic Graduation Requirements.
University Graduation Requirements
These are the minimum graduation requirements for an undergraduate certificate at Ferris State University:
- A GPA of 2.00 or higher must be achieved for the courses within the certificate.
- A minimum of 6 credits within the certificate must be earned.
- A minimum of 50 percent of certificate credits must be earned from Ferris State University to meet the Residency requirement.
Programmatic Graduation Requirements
These are the additional graduation requirements mandated by the program:
- All requirements as specified in the All Certificate Requirements section must be met.
- A minimum grade of C- must be earned in all certificate courses.
