Undergraduate Certificate
If you have a strong interest in analytical decision making, this certificate will prepare you for the following:
- Creating effective surveys
- Employing computer-based statistical analysis procedures
- Applying research information in real-world marketing decisions, such as advertising/promotion, customer satisfaction, target markets, sales, product development, pricing, or distribution.
- You will be exposed to a set of useful conceptual frameworks and theories that will serve you in any career where success depends on research to discover innovative solutions to new problems and opportunities.

Program Outcomes
- Describe features of qualitative versus quantitative research designs related to primary and secondary research.
- Define a research problem for decision-making for a client and articulate the research process.
- Select probability or non-probability samples based on appropriate research designs.
- Design an effective questionnaire.
- Conduct fieldwork based on the Code of Ethics of the American Marketing Association.
- Execute appropriate univariate, bivariate, and/or multivariate analysis using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS); or equivalent.
- Write a professional report with tables, graphs, and summaries; in a team setting.
- Present the findings using Power Point, in a team setting to a research client.
New Student Admission Requirements
- 2.35 HS GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and/or 16/900 ACT/SAT
- Applicant should show proof of high school graduation with a 2.35 GPA (on a 4.00 scale). If it is determined by the College of Business Dean’s Office/Student Academic Affairs that regular program admission criteria should be met in order to complete the certificate successfully and be a contributing member of the course, all college transcripts should be submitted to the Admissions Office.
Transfer Student Admission Requirements
- 2.35 College GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- No more than 50% of the credits may be transferred from another institution.

Notes
- Students who return to the university after an interrupted enrollment, not including summer semester, must normally meet the requirements of the curriculum which are in effect at the time of their return, not the requirements which were in effect when they were originally admitted.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from Ferris State University, students must meet both University and Programmatic Graduation Requirements.
University Graduation Requirements
These are the minimum graduation requirements for an undergraduate certificate at Ferris State University:
- A GPA of 2.00 or higher must be achieved for the courses within the certificate.
- A minimum of 6 credits within the certificate must be earned.
- A minimum of 50 percent of certificate credits must be earned from Ferris State University to meet the Residency requirement.
Programmatic Graduation Requirements
These are the additional graduation requirements mandated by the program:
- All requirements as specified in the All Certificate Requirements section must be met.
- For students seeking a degree from Ferris State University, a maximum of 50 percent of the certificate credits can be from courses required in their program/major.
- A term prior to completion of the certificate, students must log into MyFSU and complete the “Apply for Graduation”. You will receive an email back with the next steps to take. Once this is done, the Graduation Secretary will notify the Registrar who will note the completion of the certificate.
