Associate of Applied Science
The Associates of Applied Science in Manufacturing Technology offer students hands-on experience in a variety of manufacturing-related technologies. Students develop both knowledge and skill in precision machining, 3-D parametric solid modeling, CNC programming, and machine operation, fixture design and build, advanced CNC applications, and custom project design and development.
Graduates of the Manufacturing Technology program are in high demand and have an array of options to choose from upon graduation. Career opportunities include working as a machinist, toolmaker, CNC programmer, tooling technician, and quality technician. With additional experience and/or education, graduates can move into occupations such as Process Engineer, Tooling Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Project Engineer, and Technical Instructor, as well as all levels of management.
Graduates of the associate will often continue and complete the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Bachelor degree

Program Outcomes
- Apply modeling software to design and detail manufactured components and assemblies.
- Apply machining technology to manufacture components and assemblies.
- Utilize Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technology to automate manufacture of components and assemblies.
- Utilize measurement systems to validate quality of manufactured components and assemblies.
- Complete a project that integrates design modeling, machining, Computer Numerical Control (CNC), and measurement technology in an economical and robust manufacturing process.
New Student Admission Requirements
- 2.75 High School GPA (on a 4.00 scale) (2.50 -2.74 with college approval)
- Minimum Composite Score of ACT 18/SAT 950, Math Score of ACT 19/SAT 500
- Placement into MATH 115

- 2.50 College GPA (on a 4.00 scale)

University Requirements - 29 to 30 Credits Required
First Year Seminar Requirement (FSUS 100 or Equivalent) - 0 to 1 Credit Required
All First-Time-In-Any-College Freshmen (FTIACs) must complete a one-credit FSUS 100 course, or its equivalent. - Official Pre-2016 Math SAT Score of 560 or Higher
- Official Post-2016 Math SAT Score of 580 or Higher
- Official Math ACT Score of 24 or Higher
Natural Sciences Competency - 4 Credits Required
One course is required with a minimum of 3 credits: must be a lab course. Additional General Education Requirements - 10 Credits Required

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from Ferris State University, students must meet both University and Programmatic Graduation Requirements. University Graduation Requirements
These are the minimum graduation requirements for an associate degree at Ferris State University: - All requirements as specified in the University Requirements section must be met.
- A minimum of 60 credits must be earned.
- A 2.00 or higher cumulative Ferris State University GPA is required.
- A minimum of 15 credits must be earned from Ferris State University to meet the Residency requirement.
