Undergraduate Certificate
This certificate is designed to provide students with the opportunity to gain foundational knowledge and skills in the area of health care with 100 and 200 level courses. The Health Care Certificate can be completed independent of any AAS or BS degree program. It is designed for traditional college students, non-traditional students, and high school dual enrollment students.

New Student Admissions Requirements

2.25 high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale)

Applicant must show proof of high school graduation with a 2.25 GPA. If it is determined by the College of Health Professions’ Student Academic Affairs that regular program admission criteria should be met in order the complete the certificate successfully and be a contributing member of the courses, all college transcripts should be submitted to the Admissions Office.
Transfer Student Admissions Requirements

No more than 50% of the credits may be transferred from another institution. A minimum of 50% of certificate credits must be earned from Ferris State University to meet the Residency requirement.

Notes
- Students who return to the university after an interrupted enrollment, not including summer semester, must normally meet the requirements of the curriculum which are in effect at the time of their return, not the requirements which were in effect when they were originally admitted.
- Credit Variance - Credits required may vary based on course placement, prerequisites, etc. If you have questions, contact your advisor.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from Ferris State University, students must meet both University and Programmatic Graduation Requirements.
University Graduation Requirements
These are the minimum graduation requirements for an undergraduate certificate at Ferris State University:
- A GPA of 2.00 or higher must be achieved for the courses with the certificate.
- A minimum of 6 credits within the certificate must be earned.
- A minimum of 50 percent of certificate credits must be earned from Ferris State University to meet the Residency requirement.
Programmatic Graduation Requirements
These are the additional graduation requirements mandated by the program:
- All requirements as specified in the All Certificate Requirements section must be met.

For students seeking a degree from Ferris State University, a maximum of 50 percent of the certificate credits can be from courses required in their program/major.

A minimum grade of C must be earned in all certificate courses.

Two unsuccessful attempts in any of the required courses will result in dismissal from the program.
