Automotive Service, (AUTS-CT) Certificate

The Automotive Service undergraduate certificate is excellent preparation for entry into the automotive service field. This certificate caters to students who look for automotive industry standard training. Topics covered in this certificate are essential foundational courses introducing students to various vehicle system operations, creative problem solving techniques, and applied repair processes.  

Program Outcomes


1. Demonstrate proper safety skills related to the automotive service industry.

2. Demonstrate proper servicing procedure for automotive drum and disc brake.

3. Demonstrate the proper procedure for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning service.

4. Diagnose electical and electronics components using proper test equipment.

Any students admitted to Ferris State University and in good standing may enroll for this certificate. 

Transfer Student Admissions Requirements


Any student admitted to Ferris State University may enroll for this certificate. 

All Certificate Requirements - 38 Credits Required


Notes


  • Students who return to the University after an interrupted enrollment, not including summer semester, must normally meet the requirements of the curriculum which are in effect at the time of their return, not the requirements which were in effect when they were originally admitted.

Graduation Requirements


In order to graduate from Ferris State University, students must meet both University and Programmatic Graduation Requirements.

University Graduation Requirements


These are the minimum graduation requirements for an undergraduate certificate at Ferris State University:

  • A GPA of 2.00 or higher must be achieved for the courses within the certificate.
  • A minimum of 6 credits within the certificate must be earned.
  • A minimum of 50 percent of certificate credits must be earned from Ferris State University to meet the Residency requirement.

Programmatic Graduation Requirements


These are the additional graduation requirements mandated by the program:  

  • All requirements as specified in the All Certificate Requirements section must be met. 

  • A minimum grade of C or higher must be earned in each certificate courses.
