The Certificate in Natural Science Illustration (NSI) will prepare students for the career path of a science illustrator, providing freelance, collaborative teamwork, and grant opportunities with museums, zoos, wildlife rehabs, and nature preserves to make connections and gain valuable learning experiences pertinent to their desire to research, illustrate and educate using visual narrative images. Students from the fields of Illustration, Life Science & Pre-Medical Illustration, and Studio Arts may find earning a Certificate in NSI beneficial to prepare them for careers to advance visual imagery in biological, botanical and related scientific illustration.

Admissions Requirements

Must be a BFA-seeking Illustration Major -OR-
AFA in Design-seeking student with concentration in Illustration -OR-
BFA-seeking students with approval from Illustration program chair -OR-
Have earned a BFA -OR-
Pass a portfolio review
