Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary program that integrates mechanical engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, control theory, and manufacturing technology to design and operate intelligent machines and automated systems. This discipline bridges the gap between hardware and software, enabling modern manufacturing environments to achieve precision, flexibility, and efficiency. This hands-on program integrates mechanical tooling and parts with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), industrial robots, and sensor technology.

Program Outcomes

  1. Apply proper robotic programming in a lab setting.
  2. Apply PLC logic to program a Programmable Logic Controller to complete tasks.
  3. Utilize auxillary components to select and outfit an automated system to be able to automate manual tasks.
  4. Utilize manual welding and machining skills to build fixturing/tooling required for a system.
  5. Complete a project that integrates Robotics, PLCS, Safety Hardware/Logic and design/build of automated fixturing.
