SCWK 240 - Foundations of Practice


This course explores the relationships between biological, social, psychological and cultural systems as they relate to and affect social work clients and constituencies. This course utilizes the person-in-environment perspective, using key factors such as historical and chronic trauma and their impacts on human development. Students are asked to apply human behavior theories of other disciplines (psychology, sociology, biology, humanities) to analyze human behavior and development from micro/mezzo/macro perspectives. Typically Offered Fall or Spring.
