EDUC 251 - Human Growth Development A study of the biological, cognitive, social, and affective domains of human growth and development from middle childhood through early adulthood with a particular focus on two developmental groups: middle schoolers (pre to early adolescence) and high schoolers (middle to late adolescence). The course will draw from the developmental milestones (i.e., biological, cultural, cognitive, social, and emotional) during these stages to establish a foundation for teaching and learning. Teacher candidates will observe students in the 5-8 educational environment and 9-12 educational environment for 15 hours (required for state teacher certification). Typically offered in Fall, Spring and Summer. Level: UG Credit Hours: 3
