EDLA 431 - Literacy Mthds of Teaching PK6 In this course, teacher candidates will design and implement coherent and cohesive literacy instruction, deepen understanding of how reading and writing intersect, with an emphasis on building respectful relationships with students and using culturally relevant instructional materials. Candidates will develop practices to elicit and interpret individual students’ thinking for the purpose of differentiating instruction, examine student learning artifacts from teaching demonstrations, small-group lessons, and individual conferences to inquire into and reflect upon instructional practice. Typically offered Spring. Level: UG Credit Hours: 4
