EDSC 419 - Science Methods Field Experience PK-3


This course provides elementary education students seeking the PK-3 grade band with a 20-hour placement in an elementary PK-3 education setting. During this course, students will work with a mentor teacher in the field to observe and implement high quality, science instruction. The course facilitates organizing for instruction, unit development, standards-based, classroom assessment models, and integrating cross-curricular content into inquiry-based science instruction. Students will be provided numerous observations of instruction from both mentor teacher and university faculty to assist with growth and development of science instruction with concentration in the PK-3 grade band. Typically offered Fall, Spring.
