EDMA 419 - Mathematics Mthds Fld Exp PK3

This course provides elementary education students seeking the PK-3 grade band with a 20-hour placement in an elementary PK-3 education setting. During this course, students will work with a mentor teacher in the field to observe and implement high quality, mathematics instruction. The course facilitates organizing for instruction, unit development, standards-based, classroom assessment models, and integrating cross-curricular content into inquiry-based mathematic instruction. Students will be provided numerous observations of instruction from both mentor teacher and university faculty to assist with growth and development of mathematics instruction with concentration in the PK-3 grade band.
