ENGL 301 - Introduction to Linguistics In order to understand the structure, development, and social context of human language, students are introduced to central linguistic areas, such as phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics as well as linguistic theories and methodologies.Topics covered will include pragmatics, language acquisition, and the sociohistorical shifts in language. Students will investigate the diversity and complexity of human language through analyses, interactive activities, observations, discussions, and scholarly research. Level: UG Credit Hours: 3
