NURS 651 - Leadership in Resource Mgmt


This course will prepare students to assume nurse leadership roles in managing human, fiscal, and physical resources to optimize healthcare outcomes in a cost-effective manner. A focus will be on coordination of healthcare in a variety of settings using essential skills of negotiation, delegation, and collaboration. Business principles, Lean principles, economies of scale models, and strategies for affecting healthcare system changes will be addressed. Budgeting, cost/benefit analyses, variance analysis, and marketing approaches will be considered as they relate to strategic and business planning. Typically offered Fall, Spring.
